Privacy Policy
Draft of October 25, 2026
📝 Draft. A lawyer will review this privacy policy before the app opens to the public.
This policy says what Nail Signature collects, why, who helps us run it, and how you can see, take or delete your information. It covers the Nail Signature app (iPhone, Android and computer) and nailsignature.com.
1. Who we are
Nail Signature is a nail salon app made in Florida, United States. Questions about privacy: hello@nailsignature.com.
2. What we collect
Salon owners: name, email, phone, business name and type, salon address and hours, services and prices, and the salon's books, receipts, bank statement lines, QuickBooks files, tax forms for techs and renewal papers they add. Techs: name, phone, photo if they add one, work hours, services, pay settings and their Zelle name if they add it. Clients: name, phone, the family members they add (first names only), bookings, the address for a home visit if they ask for one, favorite tech and styles, nail notes if they add them, chats with their salon, payments and tips, and receipts. Everyone: sign-in email or phone, language, alert settings, and the alert address of each phone or computer that turns alerts on.
3. Your location
Only if you allow it, Nail Signature uses your phone's location while the app is open: to find salons near you, to show the route and tell you when to leave for your appointment, and to notice when you arrive. We save only the drive minutes, never a history of where you have been. For a home visit, the address you type is shared with your tech so she can get there. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings.
4. Camera, photos, files and microphone
Only when you tap a button: the camera takes a receipt, a license or paper to scan, a tech's photo, a style or product photo, or reads a salon's QR code. Your photos and files are opened only to pick the one you choose (a receipt, a logo, a nail photo, a tax form, a bank statement or a client list). Papers are read on your device to fill in dates and numbers. The microphone works only while you hold the talk button to ask the helper, and your phone (Apple or Google) turns your words into text. Nothing else on your phone is read.
5. Payments
Nail Signature records what was paid, how (cash, Zelle, card or in the app), tips and fees, so the salon's books and each tech's pay are right. Card payments are not turned on yet. When they are, Stripe will handle them and Nail Signature will never see or store full card numbers.
6. The AI helper and the front desk
What you type or say to the Ask helper is used to answer you and to make the booking or book entry you confirm. Today it is answered on your device and not saved. When the AI is turned on, your question and the details it needs (like the services and free times) will be sent to Anthropic to write the answer, and will not be used to train their AI. The AI front desk answers clients' chat messages for the salon, and those answers are saved in the chat like any message.
7. How we use it
To run the app: bookings, the live line, alerts and reminders, chats, receipts, the salon's books and pay, and learning how long services really take so wait times are right. Promotions (like "Time for your next visit?") can be turned off in Me, then Account, then Alerts. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use it for advertising.
8. Who sees it
Your salon: the owner and techs see their own clients' names, phones, bookings and chats. A tech's pay and tax forms are seen only by her and the salon owner. Clients see only their own information and their salon's public details. Other salons never see your information. Nail Signature's team looks at it only to help you, to check a reported chat, or to keep the app safe.
9. Companies that help us
Supabase stores the database and files (in the United States). Cloudflare runs nailsignature.com. Apple, Google and Expo deliver phone alerts. OpenStreetMap and OSRM show maps and drive times. When they are turned on: Stripe handles card payments, a text message service sends sign-in codes, and Anthropic powers the AI helper's answers. Each one uses your information only to do that job for us.
10. Chats: report and block
In any chat you can report a message or the whole chat, and block the other person. Blocking stops new messages both ways until you unblock them in Me, then Account, then Blocked people. A report sends Nail Signature a copy of the chat's last 30 messages, and Nail Signature checks it within 24 hours. The salon owner is told that a chat was reported.
11. Keeping it safe
Everything travels encrypted. Database rules let each person reach only what their role allows. The admin sign-in needs a second code. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong we will tell the people affected.
12. How long we keep it
While your account is open. A salon's books, receipts and client records are kept for as long as the salon uses Nail Signature, so the owner always has them for taxes. When you delete your account, your information is deleted as explained below. A reported chat's copy is kept only as long as needed to keep the app safe.
13. See, take or delete your information
You can see and change your information in the app under Me (or Salon settings for owners). Owners can download all their data at any time. Anyone can delete their account in the app (Me, then Account, then Delete my account) or at nailsignature.com/delete-your-account/. Clients: your name, phone, chats, favorites, home-visit addresses and family members are deleted; past paid visits stay in the salon's books with no name, because the salon must keep its sales records. Techs: your login, photo, phone and Zelle are deleted; the salon keeps your name on past visits, pay and tax forms, because it must keep pay records. Owners and solo techs: deleting closes every salon you own and deletes everything in it, so download your data first and keep your own copy of the books for taxes. You can also email hello@nailsignature.com to ask us to do any of this.
14. Children
Accounts are for people 13 and older. A parent can add their kids as family members with a first name, so the parent books and gets the alerts. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 in any other way.
15. Cookies and the website
nailsignature.com keeps you signed in and remembers your language on your device. There are no advertising cookies.
16. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before big changes take effect.
